About Mark Wetjen

Mark P. Wetjen is a successful executive and lawyer with over 20 years of accomplishments ranging from capital markets to public service in the halls of the federal government. Mark was appointed by President Barack Obama in 2011 to serve as Commissioner of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where he also served as the CFTC’s acting chairman.

 Since leaving public service, Mark has spent nearly a decade helping companies deliver impactful results in the areas of advocacy, strategy, law, and governance. Additionally, Mark has dedicated time to serving on a variety of boards of directors and advisory boards and teaching students about capital markets and public service.

Along with his professional pursuits, Mark is a life-long outdoor enthusiast as well as a musician, whose creative collaborations have brought songs to audiences through recordings and live performances.
